Death From Overwork, Bullying, Low Wages … Self-defense Should Be Prioritized Over Criticism

It is more effective to protect yourself from death from overwork by acting with profit and loss than with the theory that should be

About working environment and school education

The other day, I wrote an article saying that it is better to teach high school students knowledge for high school students than to teach high school students the Labor Standards Act for workers.

I intended to write this article on the theme of “let’s make good use of what I learned in my life”, but it seems that many people interpreted it as the theme of whether or not to learn about the Labor Standards Act.

I would like to delve into the theme of what it means to learn the Labor Standards Act.

It is said that death from overwork is murder by an employer, but if you die, it will be a loss.

I dare to use strong words without fear of misunderstanding, but it is the person who died from overwork that loses the most.

No matter how much you blame your employer, you won’t be revived, and your employer will not be punished accordingly.

Moreover, even if they are punished, those who die from overwork will not be rewarded.

As many criticisms have been raised, no matter how bad the employer is, they receive only minor punishment.

The bullying side is bad, but if you are bullied, it will be a loss

In terms of education, so is “bullying.” It is very similar to death from overwork in that it can cause direct death due to violence, mental damage, and suicide associated with it.

I think this is easier to imagine and discuss than death from overwork.

This “bullying” is also expressed in strong words without fear of misunderstanding, but it is the bullying side that loses.

In the first place, bullying has the following issues.

  • Whatever the reason, the bully is bad
  • Teachers who let go of bullying are worse than students with poor judgment
  • There is also a cause on the side being bullied

Be careful about how you say it, but there is a reason for each claim.

First of all, there is no doubt that the bully is bad. It is the same as a bad user in death from overwork. If you talk about good and evil, they are bad.

Second, the claim that teachers are bad is also valid. Aside from high school students, elementary and junior high school students do not have high judgment ability. A minority of elementary and junior high school students have the ability to judge right from wrong. So there is no doubt that teachers and parents should teach them not to make mistakes. Even if the bullying side is bad, in most cases it would not have been a serious problem if the teacher did the right thing.

But teachers are not all-purpose. Whenever bullying causes suicide, criticisms such as “teachers are incompetent” and “teachers are irresponsible” occur, but if you think so, it is strange to expect incompetent and irresponsible teachers. Of course, I don’t think I’m incompetent and irresponsible, and I don’t think “bullying” is a simple problem that teachers can easily solve.

The last is the most controversial point. In my experience, bullying does not occur without any cause There is some cause for any trivial matter. Therefore, it is correct to say that “the bully also has a cause”, but that does not mean that the bully is bad or that the bully is justified. It doesn’t matter whether there is a cause or not.

Even if you blame people, the problem will not be solved

Be careful about how you say it, but pursuing others in bullying and death from overwork does not solve the problem. Bullying and death from overwork will not go away.

When the highest proposition is to protect yourself from bullying and death from overwork, the most important thing to do is to protect yourself at your own risk.

I’m not talking about what it should be here. I’m talking about how I can’t protect myself.

By the way, in order to escape from bullying, it would be effective to transfer to another school at various costs. Originally, “bad people” should be “improved” without transferring to another school, but as long as the reality is not so, we must prioritize protecting ourselves.

Similarly, in order to escape death from overwork, it would be effective to change jobs at various sacrifices. Complaining to your boss or wielding your knowledge of the Labor Standards Act probably won’t help.

Take appropriate action with a focus on breaking the status quo

It’s a trivial problem compared to bullying and death from overwork, but it’s also the same when solving problems such as a little dissatisfaction with salary or a disagreement between a boss and a horse.

As long as you can’t change the behavior of others, you have to act first. The action to protect yourself is to get on your side, consult and negotiate, and if that doesn’t work, choose to change schools or change jobs.

Bullying and death from overwork are bad for bullies and users. They should change their behavior and way of thinking. But whether or not they change their minds is beyond the control of the bullied child or the worker.

When protecting yourself is a top priority, the most effective behavior is to change your behavior, which is a controllable factor.

I have no intention of criticizing bullied children and workers, but it seems that the Japanese are a little lacking in the ability to take action in consideration of such “profit and loss”.
