The last aspect implies that you should psychologically tune in to refuse your favorite unhealthy foods and drinks. Nutritionists believe that the more time you give your body and mind to adjust to the hardships ahead, the easier it will be for your body to detox and the less likely you are to fall out.

The first step in the preparatory phase is to give up coffee. Gradually replace coffee with green tea, which contains three times less caffeine. Information specially for those who cannot start the morning without aromatic espresso: green tea gives as much energy and strength as coffee, but acts more delicately.

The next rule is to increase the daily portion of vegetables and fruits to four and three, respectively. It doesn’t matter if they are fresh or frozen, the main condition is that they must be of different colors. A rainbow in your plate will boost health on all fronts: boost immunity and improve skin condition. Lay on green fruits (kiwi, apple) and leafy vegetables, as well as kale and avocados. From orange (carrot, pumpkin, orange, sea buckthorn) and yellow (turnip, pepper, melon, pineapple), you can safely mix smoothies to your taste. Make salads from red vegetables, and add berries to desserts or use pure.

The number of dairy products consumed should be reduced: cottage cheese, yogurts, and so on. The fact is that it is difficult for the body to digest and assimilate dairy products, so nutritionists advise replacing cow’s milk with milk from soy, rice, quinoa, and almonds.

Sport is another step towards preparing the body for detoxification. Experts advise choosing calm sports. Instead of a gym, step aerobics, dancing, and martial arts, it is better to do yoga, walking, Pilates, swimming. Simple exercises do not overload muscles and joints but help to tone them up.

Main principles of a good detox

Once you’ve successfully prepared your body for a detox, there are simple rules to follow to help you get the most of your diet from a diet like this one.

1. Choose the right time

A detox diet should be started when you have the strength to resist the many temptations. You will have to show great resilience in the fight for your health and beauty, because cleansing the body requires significant restrictions on food. This is done for a reason, but in order to reduce the load on the digestive organs and give them the opportunity to cleanse themselves.

The detox program usually lasts 3-10 days. Dr. Bennett recommends at least a seven-day schedule because it takes time to cleanse the body as much as possible. His own program involves a two-day fast on liquids (water, vegetable juices) followed by a strict five-day diet to give the digestive system a rest. 

Detox itself is very stressful for the body. That is why such diets should not be long-term. However, the duration of the detox program may vary depending on the desired outcome. So, if your goal is to cleanse the body of harmful substances, then it is enough to adhere to a diet for 3 days. If the goal is to restore the protective functions of the body, then 5 days. And in 10 days, there will be a complete renewal and purification of the blood, which will be an excellent prevention of various diseases.

3. Eat small and frequent meals

Reduce the portion size, but increase the number to 5-6 per day. Such a simple yet effective rule will help improve metabolism and normalize blood sugar levels. Plus, it’s a great antidote to high-calorie snacks. You can take food with you to work or study in special containers. Use vegetables, fruits, nuts, and healthy snacks.

You will not feel hungry, and the digestive tract will constantly work, removing toxins from the body. Create a calm and peaceful atmosphere with your meals. Take your time and chew every bite well.

4. Consult Your Doctor

5. Drug Test

Do not have a detox for drug test. If you plan on passing a marijuana test at work in a week, it simply won’t work out because it takes up to a month to detoxify the body from all traces of marijuana.
