How To Make Your Commute Less Stressful And More Enjoyable

For many people, commuting to and from work each day can be a tremendous source of stress (especially those that are returning after adjusting to WFH). So, what can you do to make your journey easier and less stressful? There are a few steps to take that could make a big difference to your mornings, work performance, and life as a whole.

1. Decide What to Wear the Night Before

One of the best steps to take is simply to plan what you are going to wear the night before. This gives you the chance to make sure that you have everything that you want and it gives you one less thing to do in the morning. If you are the type of person that is indecisive then this could make a big difference to your mornings!

2. Prepare a Packed Lunch

You can also decide what you are going to have for lunch the night before and get this prepared. This way, in the morning, you simply have to pop your packed lunch in your bag and you are ready to go instead of looking in the fridge for inspiration.

3. Have a Healthy Breakfast

For many commuters, breakfast is an afterthought and often consists of nothing more than a piece of toast while you are on your way out the door. This sets you up for a bad journey and morning, so instead, you should create time to sit down and have a healthy and enjoyable breakfast. It is amazing the difference that this can have on your mood and energy levels, which should improve both work and your overall wellbeing.

4. Check the Train Times in Advance

If you get the train to work, make sure you are aware of your train times beforehand by checking first thing. This will help you to determine exactly how much time you have and if there are any delays or issues that you need to be prepared for.

Find a Way to Enjoy the Train Journey

The train journey can be a big part of your day, so this is time that you should use effectively. Some people like to get a head start on their day by handling a few work tasks, but you might find it less stressful to find something that you enjoy to fill the time. This could be listening to an amusing podcast, reading a book, or listening to new music.

Hopefully, this post will help you to make a few positive changes so that you can commute Less stressful and have a more enjoyable morning.
