So You’re Eyeing A Diamond Engagement Ring? Consider These 4 Things

Reports show that the demand for diamond engagement rings is on the rise. Though sales slowed a bit during the pandemic, they’ve already surged well beyond their projected figures for this year. Analysts expect engagement ring sales to soar even further during the months to come. It seems people are spending more on those rings now than ever before as well.

Since more people are looking for diamonds at this point and they’re willing to allot significant portions of their budgets to them, it’s important that they truly get their money’s worth out of the experience. If you’re among the millions of people currently eyeing a diamond engagement ring, take a look at the four essential factors to consider before making your final choice.

1. Carat Weight

When perusing Engagement Rings, carat is one of the main elements to think about. Carat refers to the size and weight of a diamond, and it greatly affects the price. The larger the diamond is, the more it’s going to cost. You’ll find a range of carat weights on the market. One that’s five carats or more will be quite a sizable stone, but it could cost more than $100,000. Even a one-carat diamond with all the other important factors in place could set you back well over $4,000. In many cases, a half-carat diamond with excellent quality is considered perfectly acceptable. Of course, asking your jewelers opinion such as Bijouteriehidous.com is important to gauge what size is appropriate

2. Color

Diamonds also come in a range of colors from clear to deep brown. They’re graded on a scale from D to Z. In some cases, blue, pink, and other colors are considered incredibly valuable. Brown, or chocolate, diamonds are also highly sought-after alternatives. Red diamonds are extremely rare, so they’re valuable as well. When it comes to an engagement ring, though, the colorless varieties are the most popular. Those in the D, E, and F range have the colorless nature so many people are looking for, which significantly enhances their value.

3. Clarity

Clarity is another deciding factor for determining the value of a diamond. This refers to the number and types of flaws a specific diamond has. That graded F are flawless, so they reflect far more light than their blemished counterparts. Still, having certain flaws doesn’t mean a diamond is worthless. Even those with small imperfections, known as inclusions, can also be not only valuable but incredibly beautiful and sparkly. Those with numerous inclusions are certainly less expensive because of their flaws, but they’re not nearly as brilliant. That makes them a less-than-ideal option for an engagement ring.

4. Cut

Diamonds can be cut in several ways as well to create various facets. Their facets combined with other factors affect how much light they reflect, or how sparkly they are. The expertise behind their cuts and the symmetry of their facets are prime indicators of their overall quality and price. Round diamonds are classic choices for engagement rings though they’re certainly not the only options. Pear-shaped diamonds, hearts, and ovals are also popular. Princess, marquis, emerald, cushion, and radiant cuts are beautiful as well. Those are only a few of the options at your disposal.

Choosing the Perfect Diamond for Your Engagement Ring

Carat weight, color, clarity, and cut are the four primary points to consider when choosing an engagement ring. If you want to go with a fairly inexpensive ring with a classic design, then a round diamond in the K, L, or M color range with slight inclusions and carat weight of around 0.10 would be a good choice. On the other hand, if you want to go all out, a three-carat brilliant-cut might meet your expectations. Either way, you’re sure to find a ring that’ll turn heads
