How To Reduce The Amount Of Spam Email You Get

Between the spam emails and robocalls that you get every day, you might spend a lot of time deleting messages and voicemails and blocking email addresses and phone numbers. But wouldn’t it be a lot easier, and a lot less time-consuming, if you were able to reduce the amount of spam that you get in your inbox every day? Of course, it would be!

Whether you are a business or an individual who is inundated with spam emails, there are some steps you can take to clear out your inbox. Continue reading for a few tips to get started.

1. Make It Harder for People to Find Your Contact Information

One of the first things you can do to reduce the amount of spam you get is to simply make it harder for strangers to find your email address in the first place. Run a Google search on yourself by typing your full name in the search box. You might find that there are people searching websites and other resources where your contact information, from your address to your email and phone number, can be accessed by anyone who is looking for you. Nuwber might be one source that shows up in the results.

The good news is these pages usually have opt-out instructions so you can have your listings taken down. By removing yourself from these websites, you can limit access to your information, and hopefully, reduce the amount of spam you get as a result.

2. Remove Your Contact Details from Your Social Media Pages

If you have any accounts on social media, and your email is displayed on any of them for all to see, whether your profile is public or private, it is a good idea to just remove your email address so that it is no longer visible.

Sure, you’ll need to provide your email to keep your social media account open, and to receive important messages from the platform, but you don’t need to have it displayed on your profile, as that only makes it easier for everyone, including spammers, to find your contact details and send you messages.

3. Block Spam Messages

Another way to stop spam emails from reaching your inbox is by blocking the senders. While this might not work entirely, especially if the same spammer is using multiple email addresses to get messages through to you, it may certainly be helpful in reducing the number of spam emails that end up getting through.

So, whenever a spam email comes in, mark it as junk and block any future messages from that sender. Over time, you might notice that you get fewer spam emails than you used to.

4. Just Delete the Messages

If you end up getting a spam email, you might be tricked into opening it, or you might want to make sure that an email is indeed spam before you delete it. This is fine, but just be sure you don’t click on any links within the emails or write back to the sender of the email.

It might take some time before you see the results of your efforts, and you will likely need to use a combination of efforts to get the job done. But if you put your mind to it, you might be able to finally stop a good amount of spam emails from reaching you every day.

Conclusion

It might seem frustrating to receive endless spam emails even after blocking them. But there are things you can do to prevent irritating marketers or scammers from reaching you. Deleting yourself from people’s search sites and using privacy settings on social media will go a long way in reducing the number of spam messages in your inbox.
