9 Things Lying Around Your House That You Could Sell for A Quick Profit

If you’re looking to make a quick couple of dollars, there are more choices at your disposal than you may think. There’s no need to turn to a life of crime or take out high-interest rate “payday loans” when these perfectly legal and efficient options lying around your house that you can take advantage of. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it is enough to get you thinking creatively about what to sell to make a quick profit.

1. Vehicles

Nowadays, many of us have more than one vehicle. It could be one for you and one for your mate or an everyday vehicle and a recreational vehicle. If one of those is expendable, you could get paid for your motorcycle, jet ski or old car.

2. Clothing, Shoes, and Handbags

Most of us can probably stand to make a little room in our closets. Clothes should still be in good condition or new. No beat-up snow boots you bought 5 years ago. So, if you’ve recently lost or gained weight or if your closet needs to lose weight, you can make a quick profit selling clothing, shoes, and handbags.

3. Jewelry

Costume jewelry, precious or semiprecious stones, silver, and gold can all earn you a little money on the side. If can be an anklet from an ex-boyfriend, a necklace that you never wear or even a broken bracelet (if it’s real gold or silver). Don’t forget to get an appraisal first.

4. Electronics

Technology is always moving forward, so anytime you upgrade your computer, tablet, phone or camera, consider selling the old one. You can use an online forum or your local newspaper, even friends and family.

5. Gift Cards

People love to give gift cards. Whether you received one for your birthday, a holiday or you bought some on sale, you can sell your gift cards for quick and easy money.

6. Books

Reading matters. If you have books that you’ve already read or would like to get rid of, selling them will make room on your shelves while padding your pockets.

7. Children’s Toys

Children grow so fast, and they usually outgrow their toys too. All of the toys one child can amass is astonishing, which is why selling your children’s toys that are in good condition can earn you a pretty penny.

8. Furniture

Sometimes there are pieces in our home that are just holding space. It could be an old chest your mom gave you when she bought a new bedroom set. It could be a kitchen table that’s too small for your growing family. 

9. Video Games

Video games are for adults and children alike. If it works, vintage games are even better, you can sell it.

There are so many items you can find right in your home to sell to help you make a little extra cash. Take a careful walk through your home and you just might find some real moneymakers.
