Everyone suffers from a lack of confidence in their lives at some stage. Whether it’s missing out on a dream job, worrying about an acne outbreak, or simply just not believing in yourself, a lack of confidence is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s fixable, that’s for sure.
Life is full of ups and downs, which is why when the negative views set in, it’s important not to let them consume you. Come up with a plan of action that will make you feel happy and proud of who you are. Of course, that isn’t always easy to do when you’re stuck in a vicious cycle and struggling to think clearly. Again, that’s totally normal. Seeking help is too.
So, if that sounds like you or someone you know, then maybe this will help. With that in mind, here’s a look at ways you can build your confidence back up.

To build up your confidence, you need to build up your accomplishments, which is why getting things done is vitally important. No matter how big or small the goals are, set them, smash them, and feel better in the process.
It’s important the goals you set are worthwhile too and something that will benefit you. Of course, we can all aim to complete a Netflix series in an afternoon or game the evening away experiencing the gothic atmosphere at the Immortal Romance slot. Still, in reality, that isn’t the sort of thing you should be doing all of the time. Set goals you want and believe you can meet, and give it all you’ve got. Then, once you’ve accomplished them, you’ll feel a great sense of pride.
Apart from contributing towards a healthier life, exercise is known to improve mental health and help with things such as confidence. Exercise prevents depression, helps tackle any stress, aids memory retention, and improves our focus.
Staying active and carrying out any form of exercise that appeals to you can have a massive benefit. Being anxious and low on confidence takes up a lot of energy, so use it all up on the running track or in the gym and enable yourself to feel fresh, reinvigorated, and pumped full of endorphins in the process.
All successful people have been scared in their life, be it at a job interview or an important meeting with the bank. Nobody wants to fail, but that doesn’t mean that we should fear failure. Otherwise, it’s even harder to achieve. Set goals, have dreams, take risks, and aim to smash them.
Don’t let fear and something that might not even ever happen determines how your life pans out. Find every last ounce of courage you have left in you, stay positive, and use the thought of failure as your motivation.
Big goals require big sacrifices, which is why there is no better feeling than achieving a big goal you’ve set for yourself. Thinking in the short-term can hinder your progress in the long-term as you can lose sight of the overall journey that you’re on. What is more important to you, gaining short-term comfort or achieving your long-term, life goals? If it’s the latter then achieving those said goals will take your confidence up a number of levels.
Whether it’s negative feedback on a job or people telling you that you can’t do something, be resolute, and don’t let others dictate the path you go on. People prove people wrong all of the time. Why can’t you do the same?
