7 Fastest And Most Effective Ways To Find A Job

There are situations when you urgently need a new job, but after sending a record number of responses to all kinds of vacancies, you haven’t received an invitation for an interview. The job search can only drag on if you don’t use every possible way to make yourself known. These are a few approaches that will get you a new job quickly.

1. Ask Your Friends

Table of Contents

  • 1. Ask Your Friends
  • 2. Post Several CVs on Several Job Search Sites at Once
  • 3. Send Your CV Directly to Companies
  • 4. Offer a Free Trial Day or a Week
  • 5. Come Straight to the Office
  • 6. Search for Jobs on Social Media
  • 7. Adapt Your Major

If your job search hasn’t been successful – call friends or family. Someone close to you will always lend a helping hand. Find out from your friends if the companies they work for are looking for employees close to your area. This way you can be referred to a potential employer, and you bypass several stages of selection. Besdes, people close to you are unlikely to finish a story about your candidacy without listing your skills and personality traits. Of course, to get a job this way, you will have to call a dozen relatives and friends, but it would be terrible not to use this chance.

2. Post Several CVs on Several Job Search Sites at Once

Surely your list of knowledge and skills may allow you to work in more than one position. For example, if you’re a betting expert, you might show your skills by screenshots of horse racing betting on 22Bet, demonstrating how you select a football championship winner, or sharing your knowledge on betting odds. And the list doesn’t end there. A single CV with a modest title “An expert in betting” will get you far less responses than several ads that will clearly spell out your areas of expertise.

Don’t limit yourself to one job search site; sign up for several at once to expand your list of potential employers.

3. Send Your CV Directly to Companies

Write down a few companies you wouldn’t mind working for, and instead of searching for their job openings on third-party sites, send your CV directly to their HR person. These can be both companies in your cities and businesses in other countries. Go to the company’s website, copy the email address and attach a cover letter to your CV. Try to summarize why you chose this company and why the company should choose you. Your potential employer will understand that you are interested in getting a job in his company, and even if you do not get hired, your contacts will be at least kept in case there is a new vacancy.

4. Offer a Free Trial Day or a Week

If you are confident that you have the skills and knowledge needed to get the job you want, but your potential employer has reservations, offer him a few days of free work. That way you can convince him to give you a chance to show what you can do. It also increases your credibility as a professional: it’s unlikely that someone who is unsure of his abilities will offer to see his work before he is formally hired.

5. Come Straight to the Office

This is another good chance to make yourself known and get an interview right after meeting a potential employer. If the company does not respond to your email or post job openings on job sites, try visiting human resources on your own. Some employers value potential employees’ persistence and focus on getting a job with them.

6. Search for Jobs on Social Media

Social media sites also have a lot of job postings, and Linkedin is the most helpful platform for such services. You can find them in social networking sites and on the companies’ own social networking accounts. If you’re in an active job search, you shouldn’t rule out such a wide range of jobs that social media can offer you. Another way to find a job on social media is to simply share what you’re good at with your friends or followers.

For example, you could post some pictures from your photo shoots, spell out the prices for your work, and write a few words about how you’re currently on the lookout for new projects.

7. Adapt Your Major

These days there is a huge demand for digital specialists, so it makes sense to try adapting your specialty to work online. With such a profession, you can work wherever you want. You can be a remote accountant, website designer, online course proofreader and editor, copywriter and offer services via Upwork.
