Navigating the world of finance can get pretty rocky especially when looking for a career. After weighing the pros, cons, job stability, and other factors like personal satisfaction, you are likely to end up being very confused.

There are versatile career possibilities in finance – some which are very popular and some which are practically unheard of!

Most finance jobs require a formal education so if you don’t have one, it is better to start there. We are going to break down some of the top career choices for finance students.

This is probably one of the more obvious and straightforward career options in finance. If accountancy has always been your strong suit in school and college, you will do well as an accountant! 2. Financial Advisor

Are you the one who is super-smart with finances in your group? Do people come to you when they want investment advice? If you said yes to these, a job as a financial advisor is perfect for you!

You can work for an individual as a personal financial advisor or for a firm or company. There are several fields you can choose from – ranging from asset management, insurance, estate planning, and accountancy.

3. Financial Analyst

Maybe you are someone who works well with data, numbers, and figures. If staying organized, researching, and calculating sound fun to you, then look no further. You can work for individuals, businesses, firms, or organizations and be their main financial guide.

Financial analysts are in charge of a number of financial activities ranging from researching finances to creating financial projection reports. You will be under stress and have heavy workloads from time to time, even as you complete your final degree with this specialization. If you feel stuck at any point during your college education and wonder “Who can do my finance homework for me?”, there are many online resources that offer professional help.

4. Auditor

Many people are unaware of the existence of auditing positions in finance. It is a job with high responsibility so if being responsible is not one of your strengths, it is better to look somewhere else.

You will mainly be in charge of inspecting financial statements, verifying their authenticity, and making sure it complies with the law. Having a formal education and membership in a professional council is a mandatory qualification for this post.

5. Underwriter

This is also one of the more underrated jobs which deal directly with finances. People who are good at risk evaluation and analysis are suitable for the role of an underwriter.

The main job of an underwriter is to determine the amount of risk involved in a certain financial loan, transaction, or payment. They help the lender make a wise financial decisions when it comes to giving loans, investing, or lending money to another party. Underwriters can work in a variety of financial institutions – both public and private.

7. Mortgage Banker

Also known as loan officers, mortgage bankers work on deals related to properties and mortgages. Their primary responsibilities include consulting with customers, supervising funding for home loans, and reviewing loan applications. They usually earn money through commissions and transaction fees on loans.

You might not make much money when you start out, but it gets better with experience!
